The GCYF 2012 Parent Organizing and Community Engagement Training Institute for Grantmakers
Share |

The Institute, which took place July 24-26 in Orlando, Florida, brought together over sixty funders, grantees, and parent advocates from across the country to learn more about current funder-led parent organizing and engagement efforts and to discuss best practices and proven parent organizing and training models around such topics as communications and messaging, directly influencing policymakers, organizing and mobilizing the grassroots, and evaluation.

The Institute also provided an opportunity for funders and grantees to come together to discuss their own work and the opportunities and challenges they face as well as to develop action plans to implement or improve on their own organization’s parent organizing and engagement efforts.
