In the fall of 2009, the conversations on health care reform had to bridge the discussion of the needs of Americans with the financial burden of the high costs of care for millions of uninsured children and families. At a time when state and Main Street budgets were in crisis, it was important for health care legislation to take into consideration the gains of the children’s health care coverage plan and make needed reforms to improve quality, access and affordability of care for children.
GCYF hosted a funders briefing on how proposed health care reform legislation affected children and families and how Congress could advance solutions that improve coverage and care for children and families.
