GCYF is seeking foundation leaders and professionals who can join the dynamic and creative foundation professionals already serving on the Board. Under the leadership and direction of the Board and Executive Director, GCYF is implementing an ambitious strategic plan designed to strengthen the children, youth and family sector of philanthropy that leads to more effective grantmaking.
To help guide these and emerging efforts, we are seeking highly qualified candidates to join the engaged and experienced Board members currently serving as Trustees. We are especially interested in securing representation from community foundations, corporate grantmaking entities, and philanthropic advisors. Grantmakers with skills and interest in marketing and communications, policy and advocacy, fundraising/development, and evaluation will find service on the GCYF Board both interesting and engaging. Diverse representation including ethnic, gender and geographic considerations are at the core of our outreach efforts. Candidates from the Western, Northeastern, and Southwest United States are also being sought to facilitate geographic representation on the Board. Please find below the nomination application form (with instructions). Click here for a current list of our Board.
To allow our nominations committee time to consider the applicants against the needs of the Board, we would very much appreciate your return of the application form by Thursday September 30, 2010. You may find all nominations materials for download below.
Thank you in advance for your assistance in this important governance task. If you have any questions, please contact Stephanie McGencey, GCYF’s executive director at 301-589-4293 or smcgencey@gcyf.org.
With best wishes,
