June 22, 2010 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
, webinar
Nearly one-third of children today are overweight or obese, increasing their risk of heart disease, diabetes and other chronic diseases. This is an epidemic that can no longer be ignored. First Lady Michelle Obama has called on the nation to put an end to childhood obesity over the course of the next generation. Philanthropy has the opportunity to answer this call to action and play a pivotal role in establishing partnerships, policies and programs that will help America end its childhood obesity crisis.
To better understand the role of philanthropy in addressing this crisis, Grantmakers for Children, Youth & Families (GCYF) partnered with The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Center to Prevent Childhood Obesity and the Convergence Partnership to host a webinar examining childhood obesity.
