GCYF has again partnered with the Alliance for Justice to present a series of webinars on policy and advocacy grantmaking. The three part series will give foundations the opportunity to explore how foundations can engage in various types of advocacy and provide an overview of activities that constitute advocacy and public policy work; evaluate the impact of advocacy grants; and explore advocacy activities that foundations themselves can engage in. Each session in the series will be offered twice and will be presented in the context of a different issue effecting children, youth and families.
GCYF and the Alliance for Justice hosted this training webinar focusing on how to obtain the tools needed to evaluate advocacy grants and to assess whether a potential grantee has the resources to engage in policy and advocacy work. The September, 2010 training webinar was discussed in the context of community change. A second session will be held in March, 2011 in the context of economic security.
